Plain definitions of the words used in Instagram creator campaigns, and what each one means on Creonnect.
Creator brief
A creator brief is what a brand gives creators before a campaign: the product, the key message, the deliverables, the do's and don'ts, the dates and the fee. On Creonnect, Creo drafts the brief from a product page or a few lines, and your team sets the fee, dates, links and discount codes.
The Creonnect fit score is a rule-based score out of 100 that ranks opted-in Instagram creators against a campaign brief: niche 40, engagement 35, average views 25. It is not an AI model, and every score shows its reasons.
An opted-in creator has chosen to be found by brands. On Creonnect, only Instagram creators who turned on brand discovery in the creator app appear when brands search.
An Ad label is a clear tag, such as “Ad”, that tells viewers a post was paid for, gifted or otherwise arranged with a brand. In India, the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) asks creators to disclose brand content this way. Creonnect adds the Ad label when a campaign is published.
Usage rights
Usage rights set how a brand may reuse a creator's content after it is posted: where it can appear, for how long, and whether it can run as a paid ad. The brand and the creator agree them before the work starts.
Barter campaign
A barter campaign pays creators in product instead of a fee. It is also called a gifting or product-only campaign. It still needs a clear brief, and the brand relationship still needs to be disclosed.
Auto DM sends a message you wrote when someone comments or DMs your keyword on Instagram. In the Creonnect creator app it works on one post, any post or reel, a DM keyword or any new DM, through the official Instagram API. It does not work on Stories.
A media kit is a creator's profile for brands: their niche, audience, recent work and how to get in touch. Creonnect Showcase is a media kit in the creator app that brands can contact a creator through.
AI Post Insights is a tool in the Creonnect creator app that gives an Instagram post six scores out of 50 for its creative and suggests one next step. Likes, reach and engagement rate are not scored. It uses credits.
Credits are how the Creonnect creator app meters its AI tools, such as AI Post Insights. The app is free during beta, and your credit balance is always shown in the app.
Pre-publish checks are what Creonnect runs on a campaign before you publish it, such as flagging a required detail missing from the brief. The Ad label is added when the campaign is published.
What is the difference between a barter campaign and a paid campaign?
In a barter campaign the creator gets the product instead of a fee; in a paid campaign the brand pays an agreed fee. Both need a clear brief, and in India both need the brand relationship disclosed.
What does opted in mean on Creonnect?
Opted in means an Instagram creator turned on brand discovery in the Creonnect creator app. Only those creators appear when brands search for creators on Creonnect.
